I'm going to Disney for my 21st birthday and I recently go a hotel upgrade from Disney to a moderate resort. I've never stayed in one and I want to chose the best one. What is your favorite?? The choices are Coronado Springs, Carribean Beach, Port Orleans French Quarter and Port Orleans Riverside. Please please please include when you visited the hotel so I can make my decision wisely. Thank you! What is your favorite moderate hotel in Disney world?
Port Orleans Riverside in late Sept. %26amp; early Oct. 2007. We went during the free dining plan %26amp; had a wonderful time. Even thought there were a lot of people (it was also Epcots Food %26amp; Wine Festival)~ we never noticed a crowd.
Some people may complain there is a long walk to get around, but I didn't think things were that far. Alligator Bayou is closer to lobby area. We stayed in Magnolia Bend %26amp; our room %26amp; quiet pool were perfect.
There were blinds %26amp; room darkening drapes so you can sleep in. We never noticed outside noises or water flushing from other guests.
There is a curtain that totally separated the sink/bathroom area from the room~ good for privacy. The room has a compact refrigerator that was perfect to keep water %26amp; snacks cold. There is also a small coffee pot~ easy to get day started with that. Don't pack a blow dryer or iron~its also in room as well as a safe.
The CMs were so friendly %26amp; very helpful. We didn't ask for a water view ~ because sometimes the view is of a pool. Why pay more for a partial pool view~~ we got view of Sassagoula River %26amp; didn't pay more!!
Another good feature of POR is there is boat transport to %26amp; from Downtown Disney. Don't miss this trip.
We didn't eat at Boatwrights~ used our table service meals for in park or other resorts restaurants. We did eat at POR fast food dining area (sorry can't recall its name). The pasta is cooked to order with your choice of ingredients %26amp; sauce~ that is enough for 2 to share.
I could go on %26amp; on about POR. We loved it. Our next trip is in November %26amp; we'll stay at Port Orleans French Quarter. It's smaller %26amp; has no table service restaurant~ I don't think we'll be disappointed with POFQ either.
Oh, the WDW bus transport picks up at POFQ then goes to POR, drops off same way too. So bus can be crowded for those going to POR~~ it really wasn't bad. Longest time we waited was 10-15 minutes, usually was about 3-5 minutes.
We have been to all the Moderate resorts at Disney, and by far, our favorite is Coronado Springs. There is just something special about it! The grounds are VERY nicely kept, there is a great food court that looks like you are in a Mexican marketplace, there is a very nice sitdown restaurant, and the pool has this fantastic pyramid with a giant water slide! You can rent those 4-6 person bikes too and ride all around the grounds. We have stayed at Coronado approx. 10 times, our most recent time in May of this year. What is your favorite moderate hotel in Disney world?
port orleans french quarter.
i loved it.
stayed there in june of 2007.
My favorite is Caribbean Beach. It is so tropical and it has a great food court. The pool(s) are nice and they are updating the main pool so it is more like Pirates of the Caribbean theme. Im going to be there for 15 days come the end of OCT and beginning of NOV. It's a very nice Hotel and the rooms are very nice! All of them are nice I haven't stayed at all of them but my family has and The Caribbean is the one they/I choose! What is your favorite moderate hotel in Disney world?
I think they are all very nice. I have stayed at them all and my favorite for fun is Caribbean Beach. My favorite for a quieter stay is Port Orleans French Quarter.
The Carribean Beach Resort for sure!! I have been there many times and its the best. This year in august was the last time. Its great for adults as well as children and has the best tropical theme and the food court is really big. You will love it plus since your turning 21 it has a pool bar where they have fabulous drinks!
My family and I have stayed at several of the moderate resorts and Coronado Springs is our favorite by far. The rooms are quiet and the pools are excellent. They also have a good selection of restaurants. Have fun!
I've stayed in every kind of hotel (cheapest to most pricey) at Disney. and I will say they ALL are nice(:
port orleans french quarter was really nice(:
i loved animal kingdom lodge too:D
Carribean Beach, i love the beach and the fact that you feel like you are in a different part of the world. Visited Oct 2007
I definitely love Port Orleans, Riverside!
It's a moderate resort but it's beautiful, fun and relaxing!
They have a bar right next to the main pool (they have about 5 pools)
They have a huge dining hall which serves breakfast, lunch and dinner!
They also have a bar, restaurant, gift shop and a lobby!
It's beautiful and fun!
I've stayed at Port Orleans, Riverside about 4 times!
