What happened in Walt Disney's life for him to choose to not have many strong mother figures in his movies?

I'm doing a project on Walt Disney lack of mother figures in his movies. I know his mother died, could this be his reasoning? What are your thoughts? What happened in Walt Disney's life for him to choose to not have many strong mother figures in his movies?
The lack of mother figures in Disney films has nothing to do with Walt Disney himself. Most of the movies that Disney puts out there are based on age old stories, originating with the Brothers Grimm %26amp; Aesop's fables.

Stories like Snow White and The Little Mermaid (both don't have mothers) were not originated by Disney, so therefore it's not really their fault that no mother is in the story. There's a great book called "Mouse Under Glass" that's an excellent read. It includes the original storyline for many many Disney films, and then it tells what Disney changed about them. It's really surprising to see how many films in which Disney didn't create the plot, but just added their own twists to it. If you read some of the chapters, you'll see how the motherless/fatherless storylines are in fact not Disney's doing at all (for the most part.)

For stories that Disney did create that do not include a mother or father, it is probably to create a hero or heroine. Disney likes to have the main character find courage and be heroic, and oftentimes they do that in the aftermath of losing a parent. This could indeed be something that Walt had to do as a child, so good point there! I'm sure both his background, and the originating backgrounds of Disney tales play a role.
I've never taught about that.I guess your right. What happened in Walt Disney's life for him to choose to not have many strong mother figures in his movies?
Well, in order to come up with a plotline, the creater does need to be able to relate to the characters. Whether it's based on dreams, experience or anything. So, not having a mother would be something Walt Disney could've easily related to, therefore making it easier for him to write. I've always had a strong mother figure, so I would have a very difficult time creating a story where there lacks a mother figure.
it is always a tradgedy whenever somebody's mother dies. It could definitely have had an effect on him, especially if they were closeWhat happened in Walt Disney's life for him to choose to not have many strong mother figures in his movies?
Well, a lot of Disney's classic movies (The Little Mermaid, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast, etc) are not originally Disney stories. If Walt Disney had added a mother character into the stories, he would be detracting more from the original plot line, and would be adding another character that would have to be worked with.
