How did the little girls on the princess float in the Disney Christmas Parade get to be there?

I just watched the Disney Christmas Parade 2010 and I saw some little girls on the Princess Float. I just want to know how and why they got to be on it. Did they have to pay extra, or were they invited to do it? I have a little sister who really, really wanted to be on it, but we just watched it and had no idea. Any information would be helpful. I'm not really sure how those girls got to be on the float, but I have 3 ideas.

1) They were picked out of the crowd. When our daughter was little she got to participate in the parade 3 times. Twice, was during the 25th Anniversary parade in the Magic Kingdom. Both of those times she was picked out of the crowd %26amp; allowed to dance with the characters, who came off of the floats when the parade stopped on Main Street. Another time, was during Halloween. Our daughter was given a token by a cast member during the day %26amp; told that she %26amp; one parent could come back in the evening %26amp; participate in the evening parade. Our daughter was dressed as Snow White. I was dressed as Pocahontas. We got to go behind the scenes %26amp; see all the characters. We then got to go on one of the floats %26amp; participate in the entire parade. It was very exciting.

2) Since Disney is having people sending in videos %26amp; pictures from past visits, the girls who were chosen to be one the float could have been chosen from some of those pictures or videos, since some of those people were invited to come that day.

3)Sometimes they also choose children from the Make a Wish Foundation.

Those are my guesses. We've asked at WDW before how people get chosen to be the Family of the Day %26amp; get to participate in the parades at the Magic Kingdom %26amp; Animal Kingdom. We were told by cast members that they pick people at random who get to the parks at the opening each day. I was trying to help, but hopefully someone who was on the float or who actually knows will answer your question.How did the little girls on the princess float in the Disney Christmas Parade get to be there?
I'm sure if you search "Disney Casting" on the Disney website it'll be able to tell you. If you don't see any options for auditions there, than chances are that they got there first and were chosen to be a part of the parade. Hope this helps!
