How close are the Disney World parks to each other?

I have one day to spend in Disney World. I am a 12 year old boy, my little brother is 9, and then I have my parents going also. Should we pay extra for the park hopper ticket? Are the parks close enough together that it would be worth the money? We have already been to Disneyland but we still love the Magic Kingdom. We are going in 2 days. Best answer goes to first person, please help! How close are the Disney World parks to each other?
In my experience, I wouldn't. Especially if you are going to the Magic Kingdom - it has the most to do, so you can easily spend a day there. The parks are reasonably close together. But it's the transport time that starts to add up. If you take Disney buses to go between parks, you might as well count on it taking an hour. If you have your own car it should be faster, but you will still have to walk back out to the front of the park, get on the tram, get to your car, drive out of the park, drive to another park, get on the tram, drive to the new park, etc. You'll lose at least 30 minutes, probably more. I would just stay in one place and take advantage of every minute you have there.
Get the park hopper!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!How close are the Disney World parks to each other?
If you have been to Magic Kingdom already, go ahead and get the park hopper and see the other parks too.

The parks aren't really close, but there are bus shuttles that will take you to each one. I suggest starting at Animal kingdom, do a quick run through (there isn't alot of rides, mostly shows). And then to MGM (or whatever they call it now) to do Tower of Terror and Rockin' Rollercoaster. Everything else is just so-so there. Then to epcot. Make sure you note the hours of the exibits so that you see the ones you want to get to before they close. Then there is a monorail directly from epcot to magic Kingdom. Magic Kingdom closes the latest, so that's why its last. You probably won't have much time do do things there, but you should be able to get in your faves before the day is over.

Also, if you are going in a car, or have a rental, the quickest way to get from park to park is in the car. There can be lots of wait time between shuttles and longer if their is a line. (exception is the monorail between Epcot and Magic Kingdom).

Have fun!
the parks arent that close, but im pretty sure theyre are shuttles that go between themHow close are the Disney World parks to each other?
The Parks Are Close Together But,

It Is Imposible To See All 4 Parks In 1-Day!

You Can Ride The Monterail to all 3-Parks Except Animal Kingdom You Will Have To Ride The Bus!

You Will Come Out Cheaper Buying A 2-3 Day Pass With-Out Park Hopper and Spend The Day At 1 Park! Park Hopper Is Good If You Are Doing Only 2-Parks Unless you buy a 2-Day Pass with Park Hopper and do 2-Parks Per Day! I always Buy 4-Day Pass and Enjoy 1 Park Each Day

If you are staying at a WALT DISNEY RESORT

you may want to check with them to see if there is an EXTRA TIME in the Park! When you stay at the Disney Resort you get in Early on certain days to one of there Parks "or" even stay open for an Extra Hour! You can even check with a Parks Guest Relation Service Desk!
If you really want to try and rush through things and do the parks commando style, then go ahead and get the park hopper. But you really won't be able to do much at any of the parks, maybe a handful of rides at each park. You'll spend the majority of the time trying to get back and forth between the parks.

They are not far from each other, in general maybe a 10 to 15 min drive from each other at the most. But you have to include the time it takes to leave the park get to your car, drive to the next park, park and get to the entrance. And at Magic Kingdom, that takes a little longer because you have to go to the Transportation Center first, then take a ferry or the monorail to the front gate.

If you really want to see more than one park, maybe try Magic Kingdom and EPCOT, as you can also take the monorail from the Transportation Center to EPCOT. So you could park in the Magic Kingdom parking lot, go to Magic Kingdom, then leave your car at that lot and just hop on the monorail to EPCOT from Transportation Center. Anymore than two parks and you really won't get to do much at the actual park itself.
YES GET THE PARK HOPPER TICKETS THEY ARE VERY CLOSE TOGETHER.
