I am going to Disney World with my mom and my best friend over spring break.
I'll be turning 16 during the trip and my friend will still be 15.
I know I'll get a free day since it'll be my birthday but my friend has to pay for the plane ticket and the price of the parks. Where are the best places to get the absolute cheapest tickets? Our goal is to make it to all four parks but we'll only go to 2 if we absolutely have to.How to save money for a Disney World vacation?
There are not any significant discounts at any legitamate source. Don't buy tickets from ebay or strangers, disney world tickets are not transferable, they scan your hand the first time you use them.
One way to save money is to buy an annual pass, even if you are only going once. There are often significant discounts on hotel rates for annual pass holders at disney hotels.. Only the person reserving the room needs a pass to get the discount. You can make the reservation then buy the pass when you get there. They often never ask for it.
I would advise staying in a disney hotel. Disney World is big (47 square miles). I would not want to waste time travel to Disney World every day. A big part of the experience at Disney World are the hotels themselves. They are a vacation in themselves. Disney hotel guests get something called extra magic hours. Once certain days the parks open an hour early and 3 hours late, only for disney hotel guests.
You don't have to buy all the days of the ticket on the first day.
Disney Worl tickets can be extended any time while they are still valid. If you have a 6 take ticket, it might only be a couple of dolars more for another day. I sometimes skip getting a ticket on the first day, you may be too tired from traveling, depending how far you are coming from.
You can find a lot of good information at http://www.mousesavers.com/
you said you are going for spring break 2010? well unfortunately the free admission on your birthday is only a promotion for 2009 and will no longer be offered after dec 31st 2009 so you will have to pay for your ticket as well.
disney doesn't offer many deals on ticket prices so getting "cheap" isn't going to happen.
if you are a florida resident you get a fairly good discount.
if you are active military you get a really good discount.
if you are a member of AAA you can get a slight discount off of a 3 or more day park hopper ticket just for purchasing through them.
those are pretty much the only ways you will get any "deal".
oh and the price it the same whether you buy the tickets on the disney world website or if you buy them at the gate.
personally i recommend getting a 4 day base ticket (which allows you to enter one park on each day) this will cost you $219+tax for ages 10+.
here is a link directly to the ticket page of the disney world website if you'd like to price the tickets and customize them however you want.

Bid for them on ebay. If you wait to purchase them in Flordia they are kinda pricey.
Make a savings account at the bank that you can't access from your bank card.
You still have plenty of time to get a job and work until you go.
Try http://www.undercovertourist.com for cheaper tickets. I know they are reliable.
Also check AAA or a military discount if those apply to youHow to save money for a Disney World vacation?
