Why did Disney decide to build their park in Paris?

Paris isn't the only big city in France, France is a big country with a pretty big population and thus as many big cities, with much more land area available for expansion than Paris has, and more reliable weather. Paris's weather leaves a lot to be desired in terms of rain fall, yet the South of France is generally good.

I mean, building Disneyland in Paris is like them building Disney in Washington DC or New York instead of Orlando. I don't see what they've gained from building it in Paris. It also puts people off because of Paris's conjestion.

YOur thoughts? Why did Disney decide to build their park in Paris?
its because

a)its the worlds largest tourist destination

b) because disney felt coz they had a theme park in asia they needed to bring one to europe.

as they are the 3 best theme park continents. Why did Disney decide to build their park in Paris?
Well one it was not Walt's idea to have it in Paris, but I do agree with you most people from Paris do not like the Americans...as a matter of fact I heard they were furious Disney was coming. The first couple of years they almost closed due to lack of attendance. They more than likely established the park there due to high traffic volumne and to obtain more tourists and more cash flow. Its all about the all mighty dollar or euro or franc? Why did Disney decide to build their park in Paris?
Well, I think there trying to build internationly. The have a building method of building in the most well know areas. Paris is the most well known city in France. Even if it doesnt have "more reliable" weather, or land Paris attracts more vistors then any other part of France.
