My best friend has never been to Disney World and Universal Studios Florida so I want to brining him as a birthday/ christmas present. I was thinking about going in December, after Thanksgiving but before Christmas break when school is still going on. But I don't know the pro's and con's of going at that time of year. Could you help me out, please?
Also, would you rather go to Orlando the time we would go or during Spring Break?
Thank You.What are the pros and cons of visiting Disney during in December?
im doign the same thing with my best friend. She has never been before and we are going from dec 16. - dec 26, the first half of the trip (when she is staying) the parks will be DEAD!!!
the time u are planning on goign is the PERFECT time to visist Disney! the weather is nice, unpredictable, but certainly not scorching hot, not much rain (especially compred to summer) but it can get kind of chilly, so make sure to pack clothes for all types fo weather.
Another perk about going at this time, is that the Christmas decorations will be up and Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party will be going on. MVMCP costs extra, but well worth it if u really want to get in the christmas spirit, they have hot chocolate, cookies, "snow" on Main Street, and special parades, shows, and fireworks.
so let me vut to the chase
Going right before Christmas
Pros: minimal crowds- one of the least crowded tiems of the year since u are avoiding teh Thanksgiving and Christmas rush
Pro- because of a smaller crowd, most of the rides will have a shorter wait time
Pro- tons of disney magic meshed with the Christmas spirit
Pro- weather- not to hot, not terribly cold (but can get pretty chilly at night)
Cons- weather- unpredicatble
Cons- park hours may not be as long, since it is not during the peak part of the season
either way, in MY opinion right before Christmas is the PERFECT tiem to go, i say go fro it, and have a ton of fun with ur friend, i myself cant wait till my trip with my best friend in December!
even if u do go during spring berak im sure u will sitll hvae fun with ur friend, just keep in mind it will be MUCH more crowded, and terribly hot! What are the pros and cons of visiting Disney during in December?
I think it would be the perfect time to go during December. You said it would be before Christmas, when school is still going on. During that time, crowds will definitely be minimal. Spring Break is one of the most busiest times to visit WDW and Universal Studios, so you'll be waiting on a lot of very long lines and you'll have to deal with uncontrollable amounts of people in the streets. But it is Spring Break, after all, so if you go then, there will be tons of college students.
I guess the only downside I can think of if you go in December is that you won't be experiencing the traditional Florida heat. Yes, it'll still be relatively warm because it's tropical, but you probably won't get anything higher than the 70s. Therefore, it won't be much fun to go to the water parks, although they'll pretty much be empty so there won't be any lines.
For the time in December that you're considering, this won't be peak season. Thus, hotel rates will be cheaper.
In conclusion, I recommend you go in December. What are the pros and cons of visiting Disney during in December?
Some pros are that you can see all the christmas shows and it is not too cold. the crowd is mild. It might be harder to get reservations though.
I've been a couple times during December, and it's awesome! I'll start with pros. The time where your planning on going is one of the least busy times for Disney. The christmas decorations are very beautiful, and they have christmas trees up, christmas lights etc. In Epcot, they have christmas around the world, a cool holiday thing where it shows how they celebrate in different places. The weather is really nice. It can get hot, but it is typically cool which is good for the walking around that Disney and Universal require. There parades have to do with christmas and much more. Here is a website that will highlight a lot of the events that will happen during December.

Some of the cons are that it rains more than usual. For this i'd suggest umbrellas or even rain ponchos, which work really well. Swimming will also be slightly cooler than usual because of the weather. But as I said before, there will be hot days.
I hope this helped.
