My family is taking a trip to Disney World next week and I'm looking for the cheapest way to get tickets that I'll feel sure are valid. Can they be bought at rest stops? I got my tickets for Universal Studios through AAA but the Magic Kingdom tickets are not any cheaper than retail through them unless you do a multiday package. Any ideas? I heard EBay tickets can be fraudulant. Can discounted Disney World tickets be bought at Florida rest areas along the way to Orlando?
I have only one thing to say about this.... BUYER BEWARE!! The ONLY way I would ever buy tickets to the Disney attractions is through Disney themselves. First of all, contrary to popular belief, Disney keeps all of the best discounts for themselves. Buying them from AAA or any other agency, as you found out, does not really give you a great discount. I know a few people who thought they were saving a buck and bought tickets at an off the road place near the Disney grounds, only to find out the tickets were not valid, so it cost them way more than it should have. I have always just purchased my tickets from Disney to make sure I don't have any hassles. It is worth it in the long run.
I would also suggest buying the park hopper package. The base ticket gives you entrance to one park on one day, but the park hopper let's you come and go as you please. It is worth the extra bucks!
I hope this helps. If you want more information about going to Disney than you can possibly imagine check out the disboards. The disboards allows you to ask questions on just about any topic. you can get resort reviews, restaurant reviews, tips for avoiding crowds and much more. I put the link below.
Have a great trip!

I don't know, but be real careful if you buy them from anyone besides Disney. I was down there a few months ago and heard from other vacationers how they got riped off. Some places sell tickets that were partly used. For example, a tickets that was originally bought by someone for a two day entrance, but only used it for the one day. Resells it to a local business, who in turn sells it to a vacationer. The problem is when you get to the park it gets scanned and they also check to see if your initials match the ones that are written on the ticket. They will most likely refuse it and you will be out the money.
We went on a tour of a time share which saved us a lot of money on our tickets, but it also took longer than the hour and a half that they said.
Don't buy your tickets from anyone one the street. They purchase unused days from other travelers and then sell them to people who think they get a deal. Most of the tickets are expired by the time you get them, as well as the fingerprint will not match. They will tell you to go to Line 3 on Wednesday to use the ticket. Check out mapleleaftickets.com, but for single days there is no discount. If you just want to go for one day I would just buy tickets at the gate. Can discounted Disney World tickets be bought at Florida rest areas along the way to Orlando?
Discounted one-day Disney tickets do not exist. Be careful if anyone tells you otherwise because they will be fraudulent and you won't be allowed into the park.
If you are just buying a single day, you won't find discounts. I suggest that you purchase tickets only from authorized dealers, such as AAA or http://www.mapleleaftickets.com
But they don't have single-day discounts. Sorry. You'll just have to pay the price!
Unfortunately Walt Disney World's operating philosophy is to not put park tickets "on-sale".
They provide "discounts" through multi-day ticket pricing that encourages you to buy tickets for 4 or more days. The multi-day tickets greatly reduce your per day ticket cost.
Besides the Disney World website %26amp; AAA, I can also recommend www.undercovertourist.com as a legitimate ticket reseller for Disney World tickets. Buying tickets ahead of time can save you a few dollars (and every little bit helps), but not a large amount.
Stay away from rest area ticket brokers, because it is nearly impossible to know if your ticket is legitimate until you scan it at Disney World. It is not worth the risk.
Disney World really only discounts their Hotels and through packages, but they seem to keep their ticket pricing pretty constant with little option to save additional money.
Here is more information on trying to minimize your ticket expeditures:http://www.onlywdworld.com/search/label/鈥?/a>
maureen talks about initials, not true. But disney does finger scan the tickets, so she is right in saying you will not be able to use someone else ticket for a day they didn't use.
Please listen to everyone here. Only buy from disney or AAA.
