How much "spending money" do we need for 10 days at Disney with 2 adults and three kids?

We're going to Disney in October 2009. The kids will be 10, 7 and 2. We plan to be there for ten days, and stay inside the park. We know how much the package will be (hotel, flight, park tickets), but I need to know how much to budget for souvinears (get it?), tips, drinks and food. We'll be there 10 days. How much "spending money" do we need for 10 days at Disney with 2 adults and three kids?
Figure food %26amp; drinks will be $200-$250 a day, with 2 counter meals and 1 sit down. Seriously consider the Disney Dining Plan, catered to your stay, as this will save a lot of money. No matter what, make all sit down dinner reservations asap (up to 180 days in advance). I assure you they are necessary.

As far as souvenirs, it all depends waht you wnat to spend on each person. $100 per can be a small number, especially in Downtown Disney. You will probably buy things most every day. If you are not on a tight budget when it comes to souvenirs, plan on $1000 total.
Hey there, I know that Disney hasn't released their 2009 dates yet but every year at the end of August to mid September they offer free Disney dining plan. If you upped your date you can save yourself a heck of alot of money. Five people eating 2 meals a day and 1 snack per day for free! That's a big dent in your budget right there!

If you didn't want to change your travel plans, I would look into buying the Disney Dining Plan. It will save your 30% on your dining and seeing as your are staying on Disney property, your are eligable for this option.

We went in 2006 on the free dining plan and loved the freedom of not having to worry about paying for our meals and being able to eat anywhere and order anything that we bought the package when we went this January!

If you bought the DDP all would need to worry about is souvenirs at that point, and to be quite frank it's the same merchandise from shop to shop to shop. Unless of course you want a specific park or ride item. If it were me I would budget the kids at $10 a day.

Hope that helps and feel free to email me with any more questions!

P.S. Side note, I work in the hotel business also and just keep in mind the rates for hotel/tickets, etc are subject to change in 2009. They have gone up every year since we started going in 2004.How much "spending money" do we need for 10 days at Disney with 2 adults and three kids?
Okay I recently went to Disney world, now the 2 year old can get in a lot of places free and stuff, the 10 and 7 year olds it is going to cost about 10$ per meal in disney world,

10$ x 2 = 20$ 10$ per meal

there is 3 meals in a day right?

So, 20$ x 3 = 60

now there are ten days so

60 x 10 = 600 (for 2 kids)

now for the 2 year old

5$ x 3= 15

15 x 10 = 150

now for the 2 adults

15$ x 2 = 30

30 x 3 = 90

90 x 10 = 900

so add this up

900

+ 300

+ 150

____________

1350 for 10 days of food

now for souvinears

2 year old 100-100$

10 and 7 year old 100 x 2 = 200$

2 adults 50-75 each

so....

1350

+ 100

+ 200

+ 75

__________

1725

now the kids and you will need refreshments (drinks and snacks)

so you figure about 200$ for 10 days

so the food souvinears, and refreshments will be about 1925$

so.... i sugest go to a grocery store and buy groceries and that will cost you maybe 300$ for 10 days!

so 1350

- 300

1050

so 1925

- 1050

___________

875 for food drinks and refreshments! (if you go the grocery store way!
I sugjest buying one of the dining packages because all the meals are prepaid and you can eat anything!!! and budget around 200 to 300$ per person. The meal packages help alot. you should also check out the extra macic hours only avalible to disney hotel guests. You should also get a parkhopper that way if you don't want to stay at the same park all day. Hope i helped!!!!How much "spending money" do we need for 10 days at Disney with 2 adults and three kids?
Of course you could cut your costs by eating out in the evenings - you would probably save 25% on the prices quoted and with a Parkhopper ticket you could also go to the Parks in the Magic Hours too.

Buying individual meals at any of the Disnyey resorts can be a little expensive so the meal plan is the best option.
